25. Lessons from Laura - Part 9

Posted on October 1st, 2011

This short, but sweet, entry is going to focus on an important part of life that will help us be uncontrolling, respectful, vulnerable and appreciative wives.

Laura recommends that each and every one of us practice “good self-care.”

Good self-care means treating yourself well in order to be able to treat others well.

It prevents you from being frustrated, it helps you gain more patience, and you cant have intimacy with your husband without first having good self-care.

Laura says that it is so important that you should have at least three self-care habits per day and that you should schedule it if necessary.

Only you can know what truly gives you good self-care, but the main objective is that is it purely for you. Not for anyone else.

So for example:
1. Working out
2. Going out to lunch with a friend
3. Reading a good book
4. Painting
5. ….

Try this: Make your own list and try your hardest to do at least 3 a day!

“Women need solitude in order to find again the true essence of themselves,” Anne Morrow Lindbergh.
